Madrid, Spain

Each semester, Pepperdine takes all 51 of us on an Educational Field Trip (EFT) for about a week.  Last semester we went to Vienna, Austria, but this semester we went to MADRID, Spain!  It was amazing!  I was so happy to be able to finally speak Spanish, a language that I am much more familiar with in comparison to German.  The culture is much more laid back than in any other city I have visited.  It was clear, blue, and sunny each day we were there...such a nice change!

1.  Outside the Madrid Bull Ring, which holds 25,000 spectators
2.  Madrid
3.  The boys, plus teacher Dr. Sattler (front row, big white hair) and our director Herr. D (front row, semi-bald, white hair) in Toledo
4.  Me and roommate Amanda overlooking Toledo, the old capital of Spain
5.  El Escorial, an hour outside of Madrid.
6.  Roommates Cassie, me, Amanda, and Laura before the classical concert.  The boys surprised ALL of the girls with roses...we have the best boys!
7.  Our boys!
8.  The girls
9.  Me with churros and hot chocolate.  Madrid is famous for this combination.  The churros are not the same as they are in the States, because they are not covered in cinnamon and sugar and are therefore not near as sweet.  That is why you dip them in hot chocolate, which is more like warmed up pudding.  It was delicious!
10.  At Plaza Mayor, a beautiful, older square in Madrid.
